The Night Watch Childcare Center is a unique program in that we have a multi-age classroom. Because of our hours, we have many school-age children who normally wouldn’t attend childcare. As a result, we had to be creative with how we organize our classroom. With ages 2-9 in one classroom, we had to differentiate our centers. While some school-age children enjoy the toys, many still need an academic challenge. 

For each center, we include a binder that has themed worksheets that range from art to math to reading. Children complete these worksheets daily as part of our “gem” system for behavior management. School-age children have the opportunity to earn “gems” for good behavior and completing these academic practice activities. They can “buy” incentives such as access to movie night or a dance party.
